TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State University’s Massage Therapy program has been awarded a $10,000 grant and is now looking into how to upgrade the program.
The effort was funded by Massage Envy and is issued by the American Massage Therapy Association.
The grant funding will be used to add a video display and recording system to the new massage therapy classroom/experimental laboratory.
The addition of video technology will help display techniques and procedures that will then help students understand and apply practices like hand and body positions and other mechanics.
Students will also be able to record their personal treatments and practices through the new video systems and then use the footage for review and critique. The new feature will help students better prepare for labs, clinics, and exams as well as real-world applications.
