VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Local children will have the opportunity to learn basic safety skills, take tours of emergency resources, play games, and more at the annual Vincennes Township Fire Department Kids Safety Camp.
The camp will take place at the Wabash Trails Park from July 26-27, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and is designed for children ages 9 – 12. Participants will get a free t-shirt and lunch will be provided on both days.

Some of the camp activities will include:
- VTFD: fire safety, water safety, fire extinguishers, escape plans, CPR, first aid
- Knox County Central Dispatch: the importance of 911
- Good Samaritan Hospital: Stop the Bleed
- Good Samaritan EMS: Ambulance tour and information
- IU LifeLine: Helicopter tour and information
- Knox County DNR: Safety Sam and ATV Safety
- Knox County Sheriff Department: K9 demonstration
- WIN Energy: Electrical Safety
- Firefighter Equipment Demonstration
- Firefighter Combat Challenge
- Games & more
To attend this year’s annual Vincennes Township Fire Department Kids Safety Camp, children must be registered by June 23. The cost of the camp is $10.00 per child. Those interested can register online or by calling 812-882-6399.
