GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Greene County woman who had been reported missing by family members has been found safe in California.
That’s according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, who explained that Michelle Sears had been found on the west coast in Blythe, California.
In the release, the sheriff said that the department was contacted Monday by the California Highway Patrol who advised they had found Sears.
“Ms. Sears was found to be safe and well being checked secure by California Highway Patrol,” the release reads.
No other details of Sears’ living situation was released.
Sears had been last seen a little over a month ago on April 21 at a residence near Linton, Indiana.
Family members had reported she had informed them she would be going mushroom hunting in Terre Haute with Rodger Sears. Michelle’s sister Heather Fulton had told WTWO that it was unlike her sister to disappear in the way she did.
