VINCENNES, Ind (WTWO/WAWV) — A 2023 Indy 500 pace car was on display at Vincennes University (VU) Thursday.
Students were given the opportunity to get up close and personal with the car. Many students took the opportunity to climb inside the sweet ride and pose for pictures.
The event also served up baked goods and snow cones.
Gayle Baugh, a Vincennes University student and 500 Festival princess was there for the event.
“Our automotive club was able to have the pace car come down here, so the students can see it. We’re almost into the month of May and so it gets them excited for that,” Baugh said. “They get to see the car, hopefully it encourages them to come visit us during the month of May. Whether that be a festival, kick off to May, the parade or the actual race day.”
VU instructors also brought out their own blue and gold Vincennes University pace car. The pace car event was sponsored, by the University Auto Club, Triple S Club and Cope SSS.
