SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man has been arrested after law enforcement said he rammed another person’s vehicle, beat up two people, and fired a gun in Shelburn.
According to Sullivan County Sheriff Jason Bobbitt, 43-year-old Daniel Angela was arrested after a call of shots fired came into dispatch on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Bobbitt said responding deputies were told that Angela had rammed a victim’s vehicle, battered two people, and discharged a firearm. An Indiana DNR K9 was brought in to help locate the weapon used. The recovered weapon was later determined to have been reported stolen.
Bobbitt said Angela has been charged with the following;
- Battery with a deadly weapon
- A level 5 felony
- Intimidation with a deadly weapon
- A level 5 felony
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- A level 5 felony
- Criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon (x2)
- A level 6 felony
- Possession of a stolen firearm
- A level 6 felony
- Leaving the scene of an accident
- A class B misdemeanor
Sheriff Bobbitt said Angela bonded out of jail the next morning and is no longer in custody.
Assisting in the arrest were officers from Indiana DNR, Sullivan City Police Department, the Shelburn Town Marshal’s Office, and the Farmersburg Town Marshal’s Office.
