TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After months of hard work, a tiny homes project that aims to help homeless veterans officially has a construction start date.
The Terre Haute Area Association of Realtors confirms a groundbreaking is scheduled for Veteran’s Day.
The design calls for building six homes that resemble studio apartments on Maple Avenue. More information can be found below.
On Saturday, some of the area’s best comedians put on a comedy show at the Terre Haute Convention center. All of the money raised goes towards the project.
The acts include Emma Sappington, Cole Rosselli, Patrick Eaton, Lisa Wood and Anthony Vonhelvete.
“This event is important to raise awareness about our project. Obviously raising awareness for funding and just bringing awareness to the community on what we’re doing,” Project Chair, Kyle McClain, said.
Attendees could also participate in a 50/50 raffle and silent auction.
