PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Rockville man was arrested after his attempts to free his own vehicle caused a second to crash.
Parke County Sheriff Justin Cole reports that Benjamin Cash was placed under arrest following the events of Sunday, April 17. According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the area near Bridgeton Road and County Road 600 S for reports of a vehicle crash.
After investigating, officers said that the initial incident began with Cash’s vehicle sliding off the road, which then became stuck. In an effort to free the vehicle, Cash reportedly stretched a large cable across the roadway. A second vehicle then struck that cable, causing it to crash as well.
Benjamin Cash, 34, of Rockville, has been charged with false informing as well as operating on a suspended license. Deputies state that there were no injuries as a result of either incident.
