VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vincennes University Police are warning students and staff about locking their cars after a recent vehicle theft on campus.
According to VU, a vehicle was stolen from the Homeland Security Parking Lot on 2nd street at approximately 1:11 p.m. on March 28. Officials report that the vehicle was found abandoned in Greene County before the theft had even been reported to the police.
No suspects have been apprehended in the case, police report that the only information known about the suspect is that he is a white male with short brown hair. He was reportedly last seen fleeing from hospital security guards in Greene County.
Officials believe the incident could be connected to other motor vehicle thefts in neighboring counties.
