TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Firefighters battled an apartment fire on South 7th Street late Thursday night.
According to the Vigo County Dispatch the call came in at around 10 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene they reported heavy smoke coming from the building.
Reportedly no one was home at the time of the fire, but a dog and cat were rescued from the apartment. A portion of South 7th Street was closed for several hours as crews knocked down the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
