TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local bank gave a $15,000 donation to the Vigo County Fairgrounds to help it continue to provide fun events.
Hometown Savings Bank presented the fairgrounds with the check on Tuesday. The donation, officials said, will help with the upkeep of the 135-acre property, maintain 4H and plan other programs.
Bank President Bart Colwell said many people enjoy visiting the fairgrounds for various events.
“Anytime we can help an organization make our quality of life and quality of place better, I think that’s just right in our wheelhouse as a community bank,” Colwell said.
The Purdue Extension Office also announced that this year, the Vigo County Fair is July 9 through July 16.
