PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Parke County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect in a series of vehicle thefts throughout the area.
A Parke County deputy was patrolling the area near SR 59 and US HWY 36 on Tuesday, a report said, when they saw a vehicle they knew was reported stolen out of Amo, Ind. earlier that day. The deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver kept going, the report said.
The driver, police said, began driving through several yards in the area and later abandoned the vehicle and ran away.
“Officers were unable to locate the suspect after an extensive search of the area,” the police report said.
On Wednesday morning, deputies were notified of a vehicle stolen out of the same area near SR 59 and US HWY 36. Police later found the vehicle abandoned north of the area, a report said.
As of 4 p.m. Thursday, Parke County deputies have named Timothy James Warmuth, 40, of Amo, Ind., as a suspect in the case. Anyone with information on Warmuth’s location is being encouraged by authorities to contact the Parke County Sheriff’s Department.
