TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Terre Haute, Ind. will be raising money during Giving Tuesday on Nov. 30 to help preserve a part of its founder’s history.
The museum is hoping to raise $9,000 the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The money would allow the group to buy a museum-quality display case for museum founder Eva Kor’s Israeli Army uniform.
The case would help to protect the uniform and preserve a part of Kor’s story.
“Here at CANDLES, our museum, this is very symbolic,” employee Troy Fears said. “After liberation, Eva was able to serve in the Israeli Army and this is her actual uniform and we want to preserve that for generations to come.”
