TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Hamilton Center hosted its annual Hamilton Awards dinner Tuesday night at the Hulman Center.
This event marked 50 years of commitment to serving the community’s mental health and addiction needs for the Hamilton Center. This event took place to highlight the center’s accomplishments and recognize those nominated for a Hamilton award.
Community members said this is a great way to honor those who have worked so hard for our community.
“It’s beautiful that we have nominated individuals throughout the different communities that were in and they’re here tonight and to letting them know that we appreciate what they have done for our corporation, for our consumers,” Melvin L’Burkes said.
The theme for the event was “50 years further.” The dinner featured keynote speaker Matt Brooks, who was the past CEO of the Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers.
“And it’s an opportunity for us to know that we can overcome this, we can work together,” Brooks said. “These professionals that are here with us today, these are behavior health professionals being honored for their hard work and we want to continue this legacy.”
