TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Wabash Valley Community Foundation awarded over $200,000 on Wednesday to nine non-profit organizations to benefit Vigo County during a distribution event at Fairbanks Park.
The following nine organizations received money:
- Collett Park Neighborhood Association – $20,000
- Money will go toward updating the tennis court to a futsal court and the creation of a public use dog park
- Council on Domestic Abuse – $13,925
- Money will go toward the Flex Fund program that assists domestic abuse survivors that cannot get into safe, stable housing
- Happiness Bag – $25,000
- Money will go toward a building expansion
- Meals on Wheels – $24,000
- Money will toward updating the new building, providing new lighting, security systems, phone systems and aiding with nutrition needs
- Pride Center of Terre Haute – $15,000
- Money will go toward support programs for local LGBTQIAP+ people
- reThink – $15,000
- Money will go toward facility updates and program support
- Sheldon Swope Art Museum – $25,000
- Money will go toward replacing doors to get up to code
- Vigo County School Corporation – $6,500
- Money will go toward the Team Vigo Student Leadership Conference and Service Learning Project
- Network For Good (NFG) – $35,200
- Money will toward offering a third cohort of up to six NPOs, the NFG fundraising software and personal coaching program for one year as well as program support for the current cohort
In total, $204,625 was awarded to the organizations.
