TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Four grants were awarded to the Vigo County School Corporation on Monday evening by the Indiana Department of Education.
Those grants will go toward adult education, elementary after-school programs and enrichment programs.
VCSC Superintendent Dr. Rob Haworth said initiatives like after-school programs are designed to create an opportunity for meaningful adults to have a positive impact in the lives of students.
“We’re very appreciative of those dollars, and what we need to do is make sure that those dollars are being put in the hands of our instructors, so that they can do creative things so that we can recover some of that learning loss that we’ve felt during COVID,” Haworth said.
The school board also discussed the 2022 budget, which will be voted on at the next meeting.
