TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Next month “Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars” will take place to raise money for Chances and Services for Youth, or CASY.
WTWO Sales Manager Tim Sanders is one of the dancers. As part of his fundraising efforts, the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation, an offshoot of the station’s parent company Nexstar, donated $5,000 to CASY.
The mission of Nexstar Media’s Charitable Foundation is to contribute to nonprofit organizations working to improve communities, which fit directly into CASY’s mission as well. COO of CASY Brandon Hallek said the group is grateful for the donation.
“All money raised from this and from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ goes to support our before and after school programming, summer camps, Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring and many of our youth programming that we do at the Booker T. Washington Community Center,” Hallek said.
“Dancing with the Terre Haute Stars” will take place on Friday, Oct. 1 at the Hulman Center and will be broadcast live on WAWV beginning at 7 p.m.
