TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — After years of planning and preparation, Terre Haute’s new outdoor music venue on Saturday welcomed Grammy Award-winning rap artist Nelly for its first concert.
The rapper was joined by Tommy Kelly and Locash for the June 5 concert at The Mill. Ahead of the show, owners Tim and Kelly Drake worked to make their final preparations for guests.
“We built this not for ourselves, this is for the community,” Drake said. “We hope everyone comes out and finally see this and understand the amount of work we put into this. I think once they do that, they’ll start moving and the next show is going to be bigger and stronger and better.”
The two said they cannot believe the day finally came and that they are ready for the community to enjoy themselves.
Co-owner Kelly Drake said this was a massive undertaking but their goal is to continue giving guests the best experience.
