VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A fire that damaged a local food truck was ruled “incendiary,” according to authorities.
According to Otter Creek Fire Department PIO Taylor Hardy, the department responded around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to the report of a vehicle on fire. At the scene, fire crews found Bobby Que’s food truck on fire in “close proximity” to a home.
“Firefighters on the scene started a fast attack, meaning firefighters quickly got water in the fire, knocking it down in an attempt to preserve the remaining property,” Hardy said. “The fire was under control in about 8 minutes.”
Hardy explained that a ruling of incendiary means the fire was not “naturally made.” He noted that such a ruling does not necessarily mean arson.
“Arson is a complex crime to solve,” he said.
Hardy said the cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Otter Creek Fire Department and the Vigo County sheriff’s office. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff’s department.
