TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Terre Haute Fire Department welcomed eight new recruits Tuesday during an induction ceremony at Terre Haute City Hall.
Recruits were joined by members of the fire department, as well as Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett. After a short prayer that opened the ceremony, Fire Chief Bill Berry greeted the new firefighters.
Berry addressed the recruits’ family members and thanked the new firefighters for their commitment to the community.
The new members were sworn in by the mayor, and were later presented their helmets.
