GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three people, including one juvenile, were found dead in rural Greene County Friday sparking a homicide investigation.
“Our units, deputies and detectives responded along with the Indiana State Police, and we did discover three deceased individuals at the residence,” Greene County Sheriff Chief Deputy Major George Dallaire said.
Dallaire identified the victims found on South Mountain Springs Drive as Mason George, 22, Jessica Bixler, 21, and a 14-year-old male.
“We do not, under any circumstances, feel there is a threat to the community,” Dallaire emphasized.
He noted that the investigation is “very active” at this time and authorities have what is “believed to be a very solid working theory.”
“We’re going to back that up with forensic evidence, medical evidence, and see what that evidence tells us. Are we right? Are we wrong? Do we have to take another avenue?” Dallaire said. “That’s doing the responsible thing for the citizens of Greene County and for the families of the deceased,”
Autopsies will be held Monday at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute to determine cause of death; however, Dallaire does not anticipate the results being made public at this point in the investigation.
