VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man was arrested Wednesday for a suspected DUI and several drug charges following a traffic stop.
A vehicle driven by Thomas Hackl, 41, was originally pulled over by Indiana State Police for failing to stop at a stop sign. After the trooper noticed what he called “suspicious activity,” he searched the vehicle, locating methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic syringe and legend drugs. Hackl also failed a field sobriety test.
Hackl was arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail where he is currently being held without bond. on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine over 5 grams, maintaining a common nuisance, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and several possession charges.
During the traffic stop, it was also discovered that Hackl had an active warrant out of Sullivan County for probation violation and numerous drug-related charges.
