A Vigo County superior judge has made it to one of three finalists to serve on District One of the Indiana Court of Appeals.
Judge Lakshimi, or Lucky, Reddy was selected by the Indiana Judicial Nominating Committee. Reddy will compete with Lisa Reger and Leanna K. Weisman for the spot.
In the coming days, the committee will send a report to Governor Holcomb’s office, where he will have 60 days to select who will serve.
The commission held live webcast interviews on June 10th with thirteen applicants and named seven finalists. The finalists were interviewed in person Wednesday.
The committee voted on the three finalists in an executive session. Applicants were chosed based on their education, writings, reputation in the practice of law, among other considerations.
The nominee will replace retiring Judge John G. Baker.
