UPDATE: According to Indiana State Police, the driver died as a result of the medical emergency. A female passenger was transported to a Terre Haute hospital for treatment.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:
CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A medical emergency caused a driver to run off the road into the tree line on I-70 headed at the 17 mile marker.
The driver was heading west when the vehicle went into the ditched and crossed the eastbound lanes, hitting trees in the ditch.
Those traveling in the area are asked to travel with caution near the accident or find a different route. All lanes of traffic are currently open.
