Everyone has fears of some sort.
A lot of them are commonplace. Some people are afraid of spiders, some are afraid of rats, and the list goes on. Yours truly is afraid of heights although I seem to get on a roller coaster no problem (strange).
Public speaking for the longest has been said to be the #1 fear of people but according to a recent study, that’s not the case as public speaking is NOT our #1 fear.
The study, published by SWNS, listed America’s top 10 common fears. I found #10 a little surprising. A reported 5% are afraid of birds.
Here’s the list:
1. Snakes. 51%
2. Heights, 38%.
3. The dentist, 23%.
4. Confined spaces, a.k.a. claustrophobia, 21%.
5. Needles, also 21%.
6. Clowns, 18%.
7. Public speaking, 17%.
8. The dark, 15%.
9. Flying, 14%.
10. Birds, 5%. WOW!!!
What’s your biggest fear?
