TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTWO/WAWV) — People in Terre Haute will have a new place to eat starting this week.
A new restaurant called 3.14 will open Wednesday, April 20. It’s located in the food court of the Haute City Center. Like the name suggests they serve pie, but also make sandwiches as well as what is called a Horseshoe.
Horseshoes are full-service fries that you can top with other foods from the menu. Co-owners Alice Givens and Bobbie Jackson are looking forward to bringing something new to the mall.
“Being something new here, I feel like it would bring a lot of foot traffic back to this mall and I think (that) would just be amazing for everyone around,” said Givens.
“Also it’s something that I believe younger people would really gravitate towards,” added Jackson. “Like she said, it’s something that’s new.”
The duo are first-time business owners and are excited to make this restaurant a reality.
“It’s something that ever since I’ve known her she’s wanted to do and it’s really a good experience for me to kind of help her to make that a reality. That’s something that’s very important to me,” said Jackson.
“Since I was a teenager and my father and I had talked about opening a restaurant and unfortunately he passed away before we were able to do that,” said Givens. “So that is a really big reason why this restaurant is very near and dear to my heart.”
The business held its ribbon cutting and official opening Wednesday, April 20.
