TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State University (ISU) board of trustees approved an agreement for the retirement of President Deborah Curtis and approved the Presidential leadership profile.
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Robert Casey said he and Curtis reached the agreement which is consistent of past president packages, with a potential of significant cost savings to the University. He said he believes the agreement is in the best interest of the university.
During the meeting, Curtis thanked the board and said she and her husband are looking forward to spending more time with their family, especially their nine grandchildren.
Casey said it was a big day in the process toward selecting the next university president. He said the board is super focused on the role of the president.
The presidential search committee proposed a Presidential leadership profile and a search website to aid in the search for ISU’s 13th President. That proposal was approved by the trustees allowing the candidate outreach phase to begin.
In a press release, the Search Committee Chair and ISU Board of Trustees Vice Chair, John Pratt stated, “our Presidential search is now entering a quieter phase as we seek nominations and applications. Although the process may seem less visible in the coming weeks, the search committee is working toward finding the best pool of candidates to select our next President. Applications are anticipated to be due in mid-February.”
