New information from the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance says that may Hoosier schools are still trying to cope with property tax caps in the state.
Some state school districts have seen cuts of only a few thousand dollars while other have had to deal with cuts of $8 million over the past five years.
Some districts have had to cut staff, bus routes and capital projects to keep their budgets in the black.
Vigo County Schools have had to make careful adjustments to the budget.
There have been staff cuts but that has been accomplished through attrition by not replacing some staff that has retired or resigned.
