52-year-old Charles Yoder could be looking at life in prison without parole if found guilty of first degree murder.
Yoder is being tried in the stabbing death last year of his roommate, 52-year-old Ted L. Debany.
In Illinois anyone with two class X felonies can be tried as a habitual criminal and receive life in prison.
Unfortunately for Yoder, he was convicted of two such armed robberies in the 80’s in Wisconsin.
If by chance he avoids the first degree charge he could still get 6-30 years behind bars.
