Terre Haute City Police say that they have made a breakthrough in a double homicide that happened back in 1980.

Harry Rowley is charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of then 29 year old Lucinda Farmer, and 28 year old Mary Quillen.

The two were each shot in the head and left behind a home on the 600 block of North 14th Street on July 4, 1980.

Rowley is currently serving time for a separate murder in a California prison.

Rowley and his wife lived in the same apartment complex as Farmer and Quillen.

He told police he shot the two for leaning on his car.

He and his wife eventually moved out of the area.
