A crash on I-70 Monday just before 2pm sends two to the hospital.
Indiana State Police and Clay County emergency agencies were called out to a four-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes near the 21 mile marker.
Police say that eastbound traffic had slowed for lane restrictions in the construction zone when a pickup pulling a box trailer failed to slow and hit another vehicle causing a chain reaction crash.
Two passengers were airlifted to Indianapolis hospitals for serious injuries.
No citations were issued and eastbound Interstate 70 was closed for nearly 1 and ½ hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
Drugs or alcohol appear at this time to not be a factor in the crash.
