The clock is ticking for state legislators to do something about next year’s budget.
It’s no secret that Illinois’ budget has been in bad shame for quite some time.
Now lawmakers have until the end of the month to do something about it and set next year’s budget.
There are currently 77 different budget bills being tossed around in the house and senate, the biggest of which is the income tax extension.
Democrats are saying it must be extended or the state will lose too much money, while Republicans point out that it was supposed to be temporary in the first place.
