Frozen's hold on the #1 spot on the Billboard album chart has finally melted away.
After 13 consecutive weeks in the top spot, the hit Disney soundtrack has now fallen to #2 . Replacing it is the 50th installment of the Now That's What I Call Music hits compilations. With first week sales of 153,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan, Now 50 scores the best sales week for the series in nearly five years. Since the series started in 1998, all 50 of the Now albums have reached the top 10.
Elsewhere on the chart, Sarah McLachlan scores her sixth top-10 album with Shine On ,her first new album in four years. This year marks Sarah's 25th anniversary on the album chart: she made her chart debut the week of April 29, 1989, with her first album, Touch.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Santana enter at #9 with Corazon, an album that features guitarist Carlos Santana collaborating with a variety of Latin and pop artists, including Gloria Estefan , Miguel and Pitbull . It's a similar model to Santana's 1999 collaboration album, Supernatural, which featured the hits "Smooth" and "Maria Maria."
Other albums that remain in the top 10 this week: Pharrell Williams' G I R L and Lorde's Pure Heroine.
