"I'm so excited for tour," Lady Gaga tweeted recently. "I'm going to give ARTPOP the celebration it deserves. Every night, raging inspired moments of creative revolution." Well, fans will get to see those "inspired moments" on Sunday in Sunrise, Florida, when Gaga officially kicks off the trek, dubbed artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball. And according to the star, you've never seen her or her music presented like this before.
"It's so completely different from any tour that I've done," Gaga told the French radio station NRG. "The way that the tour looks, the way that the music is, the videos, the costumes, me, I feel very different, so the whole show is more of a party. And there's all of the theatrical elements that I've always really loved but it's kind of put in a different way."
So far, what we know about the tour design is that it's quite elaborate, with one runway extended from the main stage. The runway further branches into the audience with another, smaller runway. The stage is lucite, and Gaga has explained, "You can just dance underneath the runways." Also, we know that there'll be an actual bar on stage, sponsored by Absolut Vodka, where fans can sit and sip cocktails while watching the show.
"I'm excited because all of the fans are really a part of the show and I can't wait to come play this new music," Gaga told NRG.
As for the setlist, material from the album ARTPOP will feature heavily, as well as her hits. But it turns out she's got a whole other album's worth of songs waiting in the wings, which fans have been referring to as ARTPOP 2.
"I wrote so much music for ARTPOP and I still have so much of it, and I've been writing more as well, so I have thought about putting out the second act," she explained to NRG. "Right now, I'm just getting ready for the tour, but once the tour starts, who's to say when it will come out?"
This fall, Gaga is also planning to release Cheek to Cheek, an album of jazz duets with legendary crooner Tony Bennett .
