For the first time since 2008, the 3-seed Rose-Hulman softball team is set to make its return to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament with Friday’s opening round contest against the 2-seed Bluffton University at Anderson University beginning at 10am this morning.
The winner of the opening-round game will move on to face the winner of 1-seed Anderson and 4-seed Transylvania, who will play at noon Friday. The winner’s bracket game is slated for 4 p.m. Friday, while the two loser’s bracket game is set for 2 p.m.
Saturday’s title game is set for 1 p.m. in the double elimination tournament, with the final game slated for 3 p.m., if necessary.
Both the Rose Hulman Men’s Golf and Tennis squads will be going after conference titles this weekend.
The Engineer Golf team will start the third and fourth rounds of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Play will begin today with the final two rounds will take place at Eagle Rock Golf Course in Defiance. Sophomore Sanders Park currently holds the overall lead while the Engineers are in third.
The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team travels to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this weekend in search of the first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
The Engineers earned the No. 2 seed and a first round bye in the conference tournament with a 7-1 record in league play. They will play the winner of Transylvania and Anderson in the semifinal match at the West Indy Racquet Club beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday.
