Gov. Mike Pence on Wednesday signed a bill into law to allow guns in school parking lots as long as they are locked in a vehicle and hidden from sight.
The new law doesn’t apply to students, unless they are members of a shooting club and have school permission.
Supporters say this new law will keep parents from becoming accidental felons by having guns in their cars when they pick up or drop off their children.
Opponents say that easing gun restrictions around schools is dangerous and could make it easier for school shootings to occur.
