A Terre Haute man involved in a two vehicle crash on I-70 in Putnam County Tuesday.
It happened around 9:30 AM near the 41 mile marker.
State police say that a Quad Co Napa Parts Van driven by 55-year-old Scott A. Dixon of Terre Haute was eastbound on I-70 and crossing a small bridge when he lost control of his vehicle, apparently due to ice on the bridge.
The van traveled across the median and struck the trailer of a westbound tractor-trailer.
Dixon suffered head, chest, internal, and upper extremity injuries.
He was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital and then to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
