At last night’s Vigo County School Board meeting the board approved a $4.1 million contract with Energy Systems Group for renovations and energy savings projects at Hoosier Prairie Elementary School.
The project will get underway immediately and is slated to be completed in time for the new school year.
The school was built in the late 70’s.
The project will add permanent interior walls and doors.
The building was designed using the open concept which means that there are no doors and many classroom walls are moveable.
Hoosier Prairie is the last school using this design to be upgraded in the county.
The project will also address water intrusion problems at the school.
