Unmanned aerial vehicles or drones are only being used by the military and those who like to play with them for fun.
Now farmers are getting in on the act.
Farmers that have hundreds or thousands of acres of crops have been forced to drive around the edges of fields in trucks or ATV’s to check on crops.
Now they can fly over the fields and use cameras to look at the crops or use specialized cameras to check on growth and insects.
The problem right now is that it’s not legal for them to do that.
Currently anyone flying a drone for business instead of as a hobby is actually breaking federal law.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which oversees U.S. airspace, says it plans to roll out rules for drones this year.
