Indiana American Water customers will be able to comment on a proposed water rate increase next month.
The two meetings planed are for April 8 in Franklin and April 10 in Gary.
If approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, Indiana American's proposal would raise its total annual operating revenues by $19.6 million.
This would be Indiana American's second rate hike since 2012 to cover infrastructure.
The Office of Utility Consumer Counselor says Indiana American wants state approval to raise rates to cover projects that many would consider a normal cost of doing business such as replacement of mains, treatment plant projects and storage tank renovation.
If approved the average bill would go from $37.35 to $39.75 for 5,000 gallons.
