Once The Voice completes its battle rounds, it will introduce a new format change -- and a new adviser.
NBC announced Tuesday night that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will serve as a mentor for the remaining artists on all four teams. This is the first time a guest musician will fill such a role.
Chris will make his appearances during a new stage of the competition dubbed "The Battles: Round Two," which begins March 31. It will feature the remaining artists from each team battling one another by performing the same song.
"The Battles: Round Two" essentially replaces the knockout round, in which the artists performed songs of their own choosing.
During the current battle rounds, Aloe Blacc , The Band Perry , Miranda Lambert and Jill Scott are advising one team each.
