Animal shelters are constantly dealing with problems that many would like to not think about.
The old saying “out of site – out of mind” seems to apply.
The Clay County Humane Society needs your help.
They’re short on volunteers, dog food, and money.
The Clay County Shelter is currently a no-kill shelter but that may have to change.
Due to extreme winter weather the shelter’s last electric bill was for $1700.
With 90 dogs currently at the shelter at an estimated cost of $10 per day the situation is dire.
The shelter needs monetary donations as well as food and supplies.
If you can contribute or adopt, contact the Clay County Humane Society.
The Clay County Humane Society is also in need of volunteers to help around the shelter. If you would like to help in any way, call them at 812-446-5126.
