The Indiana Senate has approved a proposal to phase-out an energy conservation program at the end of the year.
Energizing Indiana began in 2009 by order of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
The conservation measures have been funded by a $1.50 fee on your utility bill.
The Sierra Club predicts dire consequences if the bill passes including a loss of jobs and increased utility bills.
Those that are for the bill say that the easiest changes to save energy have already been made and further conservation ideas will be more expensive.
Governor Pence has not indicated if he will sign the bill.
