A measure that has passed the Indiana House and Senate would help teachers pay their student loans.
If Governor Mike Pence signs the bill the state would pay up to $9,000 of student loans for some teachers.
The idea is to keep good teachers from leaving the state.
Teachers would qualify for the loan reimbursements if they teach science, technology, engineering or math.
Teachers would also have to be at the top of both their high school and college classes.
