Indiana tax revenue is down and the severe winter weather this season is being blamed.
The Indiana Budget Agency reported that tax collections were $54 million less than expected in February and sales tax collections were off more than $19 million.
The drop in collections is causing problems for Gov. Mike Pence as he tries to persuade lawmakers to support increased spending in early childhood education and large cuts in taxes.
The governor has already been forced to cut agency budgets and put the state plane up for sale because of a roughly $300 million budget downturn.
