Preliminary autopsy results show a man killed during a shootout with police in Decatur last week may have died from a bullet fired by one of his friends.
Scott Islam died from a gunshot wound to the head. More tests need to be completed before a final report is issued.
Police were led on a chase by Islam when they tried to stop his car back on February 26th after a report of shots fired in a neighborhood.
When Islam crashed the car he got out and fired at police.
Two others in the car, Charles Twigg and Gaylen Thomas also fired shots and were arrested by police.
