We'll find out later this week how Ed Sheeran's new album, X, pronounced "multiply," did on the Billboard album chart. But back home in the U.K., he's a smash.
Britain's Official Charts Company reports that Ed's new album has become the U.K.'s fastest-selling of 2014 to date, moving over 182,000 copies its first week on sale. The previous record for the fastest-selling album of the year was held by Coldplay's G host Stories, but Ed surpassed that album's first-week sales by 14,000 copies.
Ed reacted to his accomplishment by tweeting , "'I'm on cloud 9 and keep laughing at everything. love you all x."
