A Friday afternoon crash in eastern Vigo County sends two to the hospital.
Indiana State Police and the Vigo County Sheriffs Department say that a car driven by 19-year-old Michael L. Riddle of Avon, was eastbound on US 40 and attempted to make a left turn into a bank and crossed the path of another car driven by 87-year-old Laurette Bellamy of Bloomington, IN.
Riddle was not injured.
Bellamy was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A passenger in the Bellamy vehicle, 81-year-old Marian Krajewska of Bloomington, was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with serious internal injuries. Drugs and/or alcohol appear to not be a factor in the crash and no citations were issued.
