Two thrift stores operated by the Light House Mission will be closing at the end of the month.
The mission says that their store in the 900 block of Poplar Street is going up for a tax sale so they must vacate.
That site was once a Dollar General.
That store will move back to its former location on Lafayette Avenue now that repairs have been made to that site.
The mission store in Brazil on National Avenue will also close at the end of the month.
The Brazil store will close because of road work on U.S. 40 that is planned for the next two years.
Other stores on S. Seventh St. and in Clinton will not be affected.
The thrift stores sell second-hand clothing furniture, housewares, and other items donated by people in the community.
Proceeds help to support the Light House Mission.
