Fans can't wait to see Gwen Stefani and Pharrell join Adam Levine on The Voice this fall, and the Maroon 5 frontman said the seventh season of the reality singing competition will be better than ever before, thanks to the new judges.
"It's been three sets of people at this point," he said on Monday's Live with Kelly and Michael . "But what's so cool is I'm such a huge fan of these two. And it was like instantaneous, the chemistry. It was like bam, right off the bat, and it's some of the best stuff. I'm so excited. Even though it's the seventh season, which is crazy, it's...probably the best it's ever been."
NBC's The Voice returns September 22, but before that, fans can catch Adam in his big-screen acting debut opposite Keira Knightley in Begin Again , which opens wide next week. Adam says that acting is much different than starring in music videos. "In the video, there's no dialogue usually. You just have to act out the things that are happening, which is great," he explains. "But when you have to speak, it's like an entirely different thing."
A clip of Adam performing one of the songs from the Begin Again soundtrack, "Lost Stars," is available now. While Adam sings a number of tunes on the soundtrack, he didn't write any of them.
On Live with Kelly and Michael , Adam also told host Michael Strahan along with guest co-host Beth Behrs how he felt when he proposed to his fiancee, Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo , last year.
"It doesn't matter how certain you think you are, man, you still get down on that knee and....you just get woozy and you're like, 'I'm doing this. Oh my...,'" he said laughing. "You can't be confident about it. It's almost like it's impossible. I'm a confident person but I got on that knee and everything changed immediately."
Adam reportedly is slated to wed Behati in Cabo San Lucas , Mexico next month.
