Wal-Mart is expanding in central Indiana.
The major discounter says it will build a new distribution center in Plainfield and have as many as 300 employees in the next couple years.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says it offered Wal-Mart up to $2.9 million in tax credits and $200,000 in training grants based on the company’s hiring plans.
Wal-Mart says the new center will fill online orders after it opens early next year.
Hiring could start as early as October.
